Sterlington is pleased to announce that Callum McNeil, Managing Partner of our British Virgin Islands (BVI) practice, has been ranked in the 2025 Chambers Global Guide for Dispute Resolution – British Virgin Islands.
The Chambers Global Guide ranks the top global lawyers and law firms in over 200 jurisdictions across the world. Their legal rankings are the most thorough and independent on the market. Each ranking is based on the in-depth research conducted by their dedicated and experienced team of researchers.
Chambers recognizes Callum for “the wealth of his experience in contentious proceedings in the jurisdiction, spanning insolvency, shareholder disputes, and the enforcement of overseas judgments and arbitration awards.”
Lauded by clients for his ability to “think outside the box”, Callum’s recent successes include representing clients in several high-profile, multibillion-dollar disputes:
- Navigating complex crypto liquidations: Acted for Blockchain.com, one of the largest creditors in the USD 3.6 billion Three Arrows Capital liquidation—one of the largest hedge-fund trading losses on record.
- Tackling multibillion-dollar fraud claims: Represented the main defendant in a USD 2 billion fraud claim stemming from the Russian central bank’s 2017 bailout of Rost Bank and B&N Bank.
- Successfully obtaining landmark ruling in BVI on foreign judgment enforcement at common law. Appeared as advocate on an action at common law to enforce a US judgment against a BVI Company. For the first time, the BVI Commercial Court gave a detailed judgment on the principles of common law enforcement.
This recognition reflects Callum’s work in offshore litigation and insolvency matters, including cross-border disputes involving commercial litigation and crypto-related issues.
Congratulations, Callum, on this well-deserved recognition!
