Kristy Fields

Partner, Executive Compensation
Kristy Fields is a partner in Sterlington’s executive compensation practice. She has extensive experience advising clients on the complex compensation and benefits issues that arise in M&A, private equity transactions, initial public offerings, and joint ventures. Prior to joining Sterlington, Kristy was a partner at Simpson Thacher.

Kristy counsels founders, CEOs and senior executives on a broad range of matters, including the design and negotiation of employment agreements, equity compensation, performance incentives, deferred compensation, and change-in-control protections. She also advises on the federal tax and ERISA implications of equity compensation plans, and regularly assists clients in structuring and implementing compensation programs that align with both corporate goals and regulatory requirements. She has advised on transactions across a range of industries, including technology, financial services, energy, and real estate.

Kristy has been recognized as a Texas Rising Star by Super Lawyers from 2020 to 2024. She holds a JD, cum laude, from New York University School of Law, where she was Senior Executive Editor of the New York University Law Review. She also earned an MA in Forensic Clinical Psychology from Sam Houston State University and a BA in Cognitive Science from UC San Diego. She is admitted to practice in Texas and New York.
