Meet the Team

Paul Jebely

Partner and Vice Chair, International
Qualified to practice law in the US, England and Canada, Paul is widely considered to be the preeminent private aviation attorney in the world focused exclusively representing ultra-high-net-worth individuals, heads of state and corporations. Known for his exceptional strategic legal and commercial acumen, he has cultivated a sterling reputation that extends across continents. Of note, he has advised clients holding total combined private wealth of over $1 trillion and has closed aviation deals worth nearly $24 billion.

Paul and his team have consistently demonstrated a mastery over the complexities of buying, selling, financing, leasing, owning, and operating private jets, and resolving any related disputes that may arise. Paul remains the first call for many multi-billionaires and their teams around the world seeking an attorney who knows his way through a dispute as well as he does around a deal table.

The Financial Times most recently noted Paul as “[t]op private jet lawyer” and the most recently published client feedback from prestigious independent research firm Chambers & Partners has described him as “…the Top Gun for ultra-high net worth aircraft owners”, and “…the billionaire whisperer”.

He has received numerous awards and rankings including “Private Wealth Lawyer of the Year”, “Private Aviation & Yacht Lawyer of the Year”, “Aviation Trailblazer of the Year” and has been ranked Band 1 for Chambers & Partners HNW – Private Aircraft (Global) since the inception of the ranking in 2015. He is the contributing editor for an annual 1,200+ page Aviation Finance & Leasing Global Practice Guide. His expertise has been featured in leading publications such as The Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Robb Report and Forbes.

Helping to set the standard for what it means to serve the world’s most discerning clients, Paul also often serves as a wider strategic advisor and trusted partner to clients who return to him repeatedly for his skill and discretion on matters far beyond private aviation. Paul notes: “My clients are the architects of empires, influencers on a planetary scale and builders of family fortunes, most often in the billions of Dollars. They demand and receive nothing less than exceptional, tailored services.”

Paul is also the founder and present Chairperson of The Hague Court of Arbitration for Aviation (The Hague CAA).

He holds a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, a B.A. from Trinity College, University of Toronto, and completed Stanford University’s Senior Executive Leadership Program. He also serves as an adjunct professor at the Nelson R. Mandela School of Law. Prior to joining Sterlington with his team, Paul held senior leadership roles at several leading international law firms, consistently leading firms to new milestones in aviation law practice.

While Paul’s client base is global, he does not offer any legal services to any members of the general public in the Hong Kong SAR, and also cannot accept clients from certain other jurisdictions.
