Yan Yuan

Yan Yuan is a partner, specializing in corporate practice with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, private capital, joint ventures and other types of investments and having extensive experience in leading complex cross-border transactions across various sectors. Splitting his legal career between the United States and China, he also has a strong track record in other markets as well (including Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Americas) through his broad cross-border services to PRC-background clients (including private clients such as UHNW individuals). Yan also holds the position of Head of China Transactions Desk at Sterlington.

Prior to joining Sterlington, Yan served as a partner at Ashurst, where he led private capital and cross-border practices, and as counsel at Clifford Chance, where he played a key role in advising clients on intricate M&A transactions and investment and capital raising activities. His background at these leading international law firms has provided him with a deep understanding of the legal intricacies involved in significant cross-border corporate dealings.

Yan has been recognized by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific as a Next Generation Partner for 2024, 2023 and 2022, a Rising Star in 2021, and a New Generation Lawyer in 2017. He holds a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
